Electrification of LNG processes
LNG stands for liquefied natural gas. The process of liquefaction, transportation, and regasification of natural gas for power generation is traditionally very carbon-intensive from an emissions perspective. Gas-fired systems and traditional heat exchangers contribute significantly to these carbon emissions.
TruEnergy Inc. was working with Watlow Electric Manufacturing Company, an industry leader in making electric heat exchangers, power, and temperature controllers, to develop and install highly efficient electrified heat exchanger systems that will replace legacy gas-fired systems and heat exchangers. If successful, this will reduce up to 6600 metric tons of CO2 equivalent emissions on an annual basis.
